I write to right the wrong in life
when sometimes we walk away
from the straight talk way
the narrow path often makes
the hourglass seem half-empty
with evils waiting to tempt me
at the chapel holding an apple
I’ll take a bite then spit it out
just to get it out of my system
too late my fate was wisdom
that even with our eyes wide
open we can still lose sight
to what is right and wrong
so then I choose to write
